      I was born in Keelong, Taiwan, on February 15, 1968. I received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1997. I am currently a professor and a chairman in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Ming Chuan University, Taoyuan, Taiwan. My initial research interests were computational linguistics and Chinese language processing, and over time I evolved toward data warehousing, data mining, information retrieval and extraction and Internet technology.

      In the past, I cooperated with Taishin International Bank, Taiwan Shin Kong Commercial Bank, Union Bank of Taiwan, First Bank, Hsinchu International Bank, AniShin Card Services Company Ltd., Metropolitan Insurance & Annuity Company, Chia-Yi Christian Hospital, Storm Consulting Inc. (for Helena Rubinstein, HOLA, and China Eastern Air), Wunderman Taiwan (for Ford), Trendgo Research Co. Ltd., ThinkPower Information Co. Ltd., Microsoft, SAS, SPSS China, Information Management Association (IMA) and CCL (Computer and Communications Research Labs), in data mining and database marketing. I also served as a program committee member and a reviewer in many conferences and journals.

      I am the member of IEEE (The Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers), TAAI (Taiwanese Association for Artificial Intelligence), CDMS (Chunghwa Data Mining Society) and WIC (Taiwan Association for Web Intelligence Consortium). I have published more than 250 papers in my research areas. Besides, I am also a leader of several projects from NSC (National Science Council) and MOE (Ministry Of Education).
